Mescalito contains 14 songs written by Bingham, following in the tradition of some of the great Texas songwriters such as Towns Van Zant. Mescalito was produced by former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford, who also plays on the album. Bingham's music, as well as his live performances have already made fans of acclaimed artists such as Patti Griffin and Texas legends Joe Ely and Terry Allen. At 25, the bumpy course of Bingham's life has already surpassed that of many twice is age. From his bordertown upbringing to his years on the Southwestern rodeo circuit, Bingham's poignant songs, sung through his whiskey-soaked voice, reflect his experiences and the wisdom he has gained from them. His songs are raw, honest and born out of a genuine soul. From the opening track "Southside of Heaven" to the bluesy slide of "Bread & Water" to the Mexican-flavored "Boracho Station", Bingham's songs come straight from the heart. His influences blend seamlessly with his own style creating a traditional sound that also sounds fresh and original. Bingham has the unique ability to transport audiences into the center of the place from which they came. Listen to Mescalito and take part in the journey that is Ryan Bingham." | | | Product Details: | | | Audio CD Release Date:

grittyJun 24, 2010 Gritty, great lyrics, worth the money. Not your standard homogenized crap you hear on the radio. An excellent piece of work.

Thank You, "Crazy Heart"!Jun 14, 2010 The movie, "Crazy Heart" introduced me to Ryan Bingham. I bought that soundtrack, and played it so much, if it had been an LP it would be very scratchy by now. So then I bought this album. I certainly was not disappointed by it. Bingham is a great songwriter with a great and unique voice to match. I plan to buy anything else he has recorded.

5 stars for Ryan BinghamJun 02, 2010
We saw Ryan Bingham on Austin City Limits a few weeks ago. Loved the style of his singing, his somewhat raspy voice, and the idea that he's a story teller. He's right up there with John Prine and Bob Dylan....maybe a cross between. Anyway, for being 27 years young, he's found some devoted fans in Kentucky. His music has nice melodies, and he sings well. He plays several instruments. A very talented musician. We will be looking forward to some new music....Love this CD.

Simply amazingFeb 22, 2010 Ryan is an incredible talent. His unique voice and lyrics would be amazing enough but the way he uses different instruments to compliment these creates something unmissable. From subtle rolling violins to echoed modern background vocals, it creates excellent sounds. The CD makes you just wanna leave and turn it up on a road-trip through America.
