Does the job and does it well. Filters so that the water has no after-taste. But I see nowhere on the packaging or item itself WHERE it is made and I know GE outsources most of the manufacturing of their products. And I think they're the only company who makes this filter. :(

Stick with the original.You can save about 5 bucks on a aftermarket brand "Britta", but the "GE" water taste delicious and the visual is very clear.Also the water flow pressure is stronger on the original.The "GE" has a reassuring tight fit when installed properly.

Lets face it, same brand and model number filter would perform the same regardless of where you buy it. Whats sets them apart are price and delivery. Saved almost $20 over odering from big retail store. Will definitely chose to always go this route in the future.
