A nice cheap scaleJul 22, 2010 This is a good scale for the price. Very small and light. A little slow and unresponsive when trying to weigh very small things (less than a gram). If you want to accurately measure small fractions of a gram, get a nicer scale (preferably with .001 accuracy). If not then this is an effective, portable and affordable scale.

fantasticJul 08, 2010 I am really happy with this product. It arrived very quickly, and it is even nicer than I expected. Seller and item are highly recommended.
Convenient, But One Major DrawbackJul 05, 2010 Fast Weigh's M-500 Digital Pocket Scale is very convenient for weighing smaller items such as letters, small liquid doses, or even light jewelry. The lid serves as a small tray to hold items. The scale is also fairly accurate.
There's one major drawback on this scale, however. It can quickly lose its calibration, necessitating a 500g weight in order to recalibrate it. This is a drawback since the weight needed for calibration can cost just as much or, in most cases, more than the actual scale.
Keep this fact in mind when deciding on whether or not to purchase this scale. Yes, it is convenient. Yes, it is very handy to tote it around with you. Despite this, it might be just as simple to spend a few extra bucks and get a better scale.
Mildly recommended.
not suitable for my purposesJun 22, 2010 I purchased this scale thinking I could easily keep it in my purse and use it to weigh food for portion control purposes. The scale is small enough to fit in a purse (plus!) but the space where you would place your food item or items is much too tiny unless you are weighing two chips or several almonds. As mentioned in other posts, the scale requires calibration and a 500g weight is required to calibrate properly. I do not have a 500g weight lying around nor anything of a similar weight (box of 500 paper clips anyone?). It is a nifty little device, however, and I think it would work for people who are measuring substances (provided you had the weight to calibrate the machine). I got what I paid for.
Weigher of thingsJun 15, 2010 gave it 3 stars because A.the batteries don't work right out of the box. B. it looks close to the pic but still different. c. it takes about 5 or 6 seconds for it to acknowledge whatever your weighing. but all in all for the price it works well (once you change the batteries)
